𝔊𝔬𝔟𝔩𝔦𝔫 ℌ𝔦𝔩𝔩 | A colorized delineation showing house, garden, and grounds. Local stone, agate green stucco, & cedar.
Text: Goblin Hill

Image: a perspective drawing of a long low rambling residence built in the prairie style. It is perched on a hilltop in rural Wisconsin and built of stone, stucco, and cedar. The house is wrapped around a hilltop on three sides, terminating in a short tower. The broad roof shelters many windows, porches, and enclosed balconies.

Title: Prairie Goblins

An image of four small figures with large ears, horns, and reflective-eyes lounging on an abandoned car in an overgrown field. The cars bumper is bent and the windshield is broken. Some of the figures wear clothes of woven grass, and they all have long prehensile tails. Ivy grows over part of the car. Title: The Mishipeshu and The Great Lakes Biome

Description: an illustration showing Lake Michigan and its surrounding geography in curved perspective. Noted in small cursive around the geography are labels denoting the Native American territories belonging to each area. Dotted white lines crisscross the illustration showing the paths of ley lines or other mysterious navigations. Over all of this is a phantom depiction of the Mishipeshu; the Underwater Panther of Objiwe legend. The Mishipeshu's paw dips beneath the waters of Lake Michigan, demonstrating its scale. The Mishipeshu is depicted as a panther with elongated ears and covered in a mixture of feathers and fur. Spines curve along its back and down its tail terminating in curved barbs. Title: The Spirit of The Ogallala Aquifer

Image: an illustration showing a prairie hillside covered in weeds and grasses. Hovering over the hillside is a phantom skeleton of a massive prehistoric fish, a thin trickle of water emerges from the earth and dances around the skeleton, which is backlit by sunlight lancing from behind a large brilliantly illuminated storm cloud.
In the foreground is a small handful of ammonite fossils- a nod to the prehistoric seas beneath the prairie. Title: Corpse Lights

Image: Two brittle flickering lights on a prairie and hedge covered hillside at deep dusk.

Explain your user name:

Goblin Hill is a place in my mind that is a hilltop prairie refuge, a long low rambling house as bucolic as it is sinister, as embracing as it is warding, as calm as it is filled with life. I hope to build it for real one day.

And I'm from up that hill!

Explain your user name:

My father's last name is Busiek, and so the whole family just kinda used it too, and he and my mom named me Kurt, so that differentiated me from the seven other Busieks in the house.

And it stuck.

Explain your user name:

Tea is my first (nick) name, I like Teaberry Gum and Berry-Blue Jell-o, and I have been using this as a handle since college, that’s really all there is to it.

Very rude dude

#ocarinaoftime #OoT #zelda #deadhand
This is a low angle shot of the monster Dead Hand, from the game "Ocarina of Time"

It is digitally painted and pretty mucky looking. His mouth is open and shrieking, and his hands are reaching towards the camera.

This is an incredibly important point and I'm really glad someone pointed it out! Thank you! We're being nickle and dimed to death by online servicers!
upongoblinhill.bsky.social
Exactly! The interpretation is so vast, and platforms these days are so narrow, it's hard for artists to adapt to them for the sake of being seen.
upongoblinhill.bsky.social
Completely agree. Circulation is how artists are found! We have to be able to share our work with the wider world.
upongoblinhill.bsky.social
Until there is another shift in how media- art in particular- is platformed online, we have to work with what we have. Bluesky is messed up but that's not -our- fault. It's theirs. It took me 10 years to get to the follower count I have here back on Twitter, I'm not struggling through that again.
upongoblinhill.bsky.social
As much as folks might not want to believe it, artists who sell their work cannot survive exclusively on platforms that cater to primarily other artists. The Circulating The Same Five Dollars™️ model can't feed us or pay bills for long. We need places where we can be seen and discovered.

Thank you for making it Jess! I haven't been on a forum in ages

I've been waiting all year to repost this 🎃
A pumpkin patch in a variety of shapes and colours, some with carved faces with different expressions. Between the pumpkins are black and white cats, crows, frogs, bushes, twigs and mushrooms.

The issue is security imo. I was on a Frank Lloyd Wright forum where mostly it was scholarly discussion, then it was brigaded by a slew of AI powered spam bots who made accounts to post ads for sunglasses. It took mods ages to solve this problem and it got so bad they resorted to a complex log-in.

With the advent of sora 2 I will no longer be posting images of my face online. Literally nothing is sacred to these ai cretins. I wish them only penury, bankruptcy, failure, and ruin.
upongoblinhill.bsky.social
Dude thank you!! I can't wait to share more with folks, it's been a long time coming!
