Love Dan Meis to bits but Birmingham City do not ‘have an incredible history’. Theyve been outside the top flight for 34 of the last 40yrs. They haven’t averaged a crowd more than 30k in a season since 1974 so why they want to build a 60k stadium is baffling. www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/footba...
It’s mindblowing that Heseltine - one of Thatcher’s key Tory lieutenants in the 1980s - is the one being outspoken (and correct) about Reform in 2025. It show how far we’ve gone when the right wingers of the 80s look like socialists compared to the likes of Farage & Co.
There’s zero problem with them ‘asking her to wrestle’. It’s highly unlikely they did so, which casts huge doubt on if she’s telling the truth. AEW also doesn’t tend to ask 47 year old females who’ve wrestled 1 match in the past 10yrs to come in to wrestle a match.
The issue was she was allegedly not asked to wrestle, she herself allegedly asked to be considered for a producer role in AEW (a role she held in TNA for most of the past decade) & got turned down, which multiple different AEW people intimated & she subsequently denied.
“A quick text from Sonjay (Dutt) just asking me if I was thinking about wrestling. I said, ‘I’m retired.’ I wasn’t interested in that. I’m retired.” So, she was asked if she was ‘thinking about wrestling’ & she interpreted that as ‘We want you to come in as a wrestler in a match’. Just, wow.
It doesn’t have to be to everyone’s liking, but it kind of needs to make sense to work & if you can’t tell the story properly or it’s a bad fit, then it won’t work & is a waste of everyone’s time.
Izzy the NXT Bayley Superfan. To be fair, as a story it would work better: A) in WWE/NXT. B) versus Bayley. It’s a hard story to explain in AEW for obvious reasons - they can’t use any old footage of her as a kid, they can’t tell the story without mentioning WWE NXT & Bayley. I wouldn’t do that.
Kim ignorantly criticised AEW & Riho. Omega quite rightly defended his friend. It’s 1-1, it should’ve ended there, but she got her first whiff of relevancy this decade so she jumped aboard the Grift Train & is gonna ride this until her utterings stop getting engagement numbers. Massive YAWN.
Here’s a thought - if a company disrespects you this much - don’t work for them. And don’t hanker to work for them again. And don’t give interview after interview, for months & months, practically begging them to re-sign you. Stop talking about them, move on with your lives, sign with someone else.
Dad’s books are full of empathy, common sense, and a healthy suspicion of the powerful. But at its heart his work is also about how systems keep people poor while pretending it’s their own fault. So I hope Kemi’s taking notes as well as reading the jokes.
