yes!!! even when i was in undergrad in 2009 from the student perspective there was an emphasis on not treating it as an exchange of money for grades & now, im literally being told by admin that that’s exactly what it is smh

instructors/faculty as service workers that provide a product (passing grades & degrees in exchange for $$) that has replaced the model of actual teacher offering education with expectations from students to demonstrate competency in grasping the material :/

like why r ppl commenting “this is cringe” or “get a hobby” on fandom posts. fandom IS hobby. it is inherently “cringe” because u care so much abt something that it makes u vulnerable to ridicule. u used to have to work for this but now everyone is at the table. idk maybe this is an elitist take lol
