Not only was the promise not kept, it’s like it never happened. We get it, there aren’t enough votes to pass real reform.
Most of us are pragmatic—but to just drop it completely? To stop even talking about it, like it’s been erased? That’s the part that hits the hardest for me.

If you are a cis person *please* take 2 minutes to do this. Trans people with non-updated gender markers, historical gender marker changes, and X markers are terrified to travel right now; rolling back this policy would mean a lot.
Public comment is now open for passport gender marker changes.
You can go here to go to each of the three proposed passport rules, and submit comment.
My suggestion: be unique, argue for trans-inclusive policies, against the constitutionality of the changes, etc.

What's happening right now is the societal equivalent of the students who always let certain kids carry the group project having to do their own work. I'm seeing all these calls for unity... it's cute.
But me, personally, I'm not telling Black ppl to stage a coup (I see that language coming up more and more). Cause #yall will let us lead the charge and it'll be a fcking slaughter. At we all know it. So not too much on your idea about how Black folks should enact radicalism.

I hope we Americans can let go of our desire to be the individual Chosen One who leads the rebellion and punches every Nazi. Organizing is hard, it takes experience and resources and time. Stop fantasizing about being a superhero. Start joining existing groups and be part of collective action.

For the newbies, one of the great features on here is that when someone has tried to quote-post dunk on you, hit the … and select “detach quote” and nobody will see the post or who wrote it and they will look like an asshole. (Blocking works like this too.)
