But please can we maybe be a little less tone deaf?! (*End of rant, goes to bed.*)

We must work together and fight intersectionally! Sometimes that means we must draw attention to our struggles, and that's right to do so. But sometimes it's about recognising what else is going on too. I don't mean we all have to post about everything, we all have our capacity for what we can do.

We are facing horrible things like the upcoming EHRC guidance, a rise in hate, political parties openly discussing us, but it's the same thing driving it that's also being expressed in violent far right protests or Daily Mail columns about "immigrants" or Meghan Markle breathing the wrong way.

Over recent times I've seen quite a few fellow White trans people post things like "this debate would NEVER be allowed to happen about race!"
And my dude, I'm sorry but have you seen the news? It does. Every single day. Maybe not in the same way, but it's the same fight.

Just filled this survey out - super quick and really important! Trans history week is brilliant, I always learn so much from it myself as well as being able to gain inspo for work.

Yeahhhhh this! All you achieve if you do that is giving the nonsense peddlers attention. Just block and mute, block and mute, make a cup of tea, read a book, go for a wee, just anything apart from repeating nonsense so we all have to see it too!

I once again beg all y'all not to screencrap nonsense from the former Twitter and bring it here to dunk on it, that's like inviting a vampire in to tell them their fangs look stupid, maybe you're right but they're still going to fucking eat you

(also "screencrap" was a legit typo but I left it in)

Silence can be very isolating. It’s comforting to see public care and solidarity.

Solidarity to my Muslim friends experiencing violence in the streets and hate online as disgusting people celebrate an attack on a Mosque by two people in East Sussex.

This is not the Britain I want to live in.
Peacehaven: Fire at East Sussex mosque probed as 'hate crime'
Video appears to show two people in balaclavas at the mosque before a large blaze spreads.

@obtownsend.bsky.social and I have created a special human rights wall in our hallway. It acts like garlic on vampires, repelling any R*form candidates who may knock on our door...
A poster with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights articles on it. The article headings are in bright pink, bold font. The poster is white. Three posters on a white wall. The closest is of rainbow text saying "resist" in a rainbow, 1970s style swirl pattern. The middle top is of the "Pits and Perverts" gig poster in black and white. The bottom is an underground-style map of Newport.

You don't! ❤️ I feel very passionately that none of us *need* to consume news at the moment. We can do whatever we feel able to. Otherwise we'll just exhaust ourselves.

My Bangladeshi 🇧🇩 born friend with whom I talk about cricket & rugby in the pub told me that he was abused in traffic today by someone with not much grammar and told to ‘get back on his boat’
He has lived here since he was 8 years old and is a valued local accountant 😔
Only White people can stop this

The world is very tired and very sad. I've spent the day trying to do EDI and support people who are really scared, and I'm so tired. Let alone how they must feel.

But I'm home, I've got my boy and I've got the West Wing on for some comfort.

My grandad had a whole cupboard of Fray Bentos pies and tins of treacle sponge which was always his treat for me when I'd come to visit him! Loved them.

This is a brilliant essay.

Makes me wish very much that there was more trans masc focused meet ups where I live - American trans guys seem very good at it, British guys less so!
I want to socialise with other boring grumpy old trans men, so if anyone knows any, say hello!

New essay: REJECT TRANS DOOM-POSTING.

It's about grief, loss, institutional failures, and the horror of the current moment.

It's also a love letter to trans community, and the things we do with and for one another.

This week I took the long train down to the south of England for my friend Robyn’s funeral. She died very suddenly three weeks ago, aged just 32. Robyn gave so much love to the world, and was so lo…

This is a great article!
I find being part of a trans community a bit of a double edged sword - if you're not in it, there's a lot you don't know, but if you're in it a LOT, you can get overwhelmed by online discourse and drama. But shows the value of those real life connections and community.

Amazing piece by @echomikeromeo.bsky.social:

"if we want to tell stories about the past that not only make historiographical contributions but also help people get healthcare [etc] we must start by ensuring that we are in community ourselves and are responsive to community pressures and needs".

This is a great book. It's really moving to hear the stories of the women - their lives, their experiences, the world they lived in. Highly recommend to true crime fans who want a different perspective. 📚

Who else can hear plugs? I am fascinated because from a very small sample size, all my afab autistic friends and myself can hear plugs, but all my amab ones can't...
