The Henry A. Wallace Beltsville Agricultural Research Center (BARC) is a unit of the USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS). It spans 6500 acres of land, over which stretch experimental farms, greenhouses, labs, and offices.

The last Secretary of Agriculture would have given us two to four hours of admin leave to spend time with our families. Cheerleader lawyer just lectured us about how the pilgrims and Indians were nice to each other with “gratitude towards a loving God.” Thanks Brooke for the boomer history lesson.

BREAKING: MAMDANI HAS WON according to Decision Desk

The relentless assault on science, on expertise, on knowledge. The desecration of the White House and all it represents. The tormenting of people struggling to keep themselves sheltered, fed, and cared for. The teams of masked, armed cowards terrorizing those they can --
for now -- easily overpower.

Great to meet with Charles County leadership to hear more on their priorities on how they plan to continue moving the county forward.

I was proud to partner with local leaders and direct federal funding for SMRT and their CSM aviation program.

Who would've thought building a $300 million gold-plated ballroom as kids go hungry and health care costs soar would be unpopular?
Most Americans oppose East Wing demolition for Trump ballroom, poll finds
Fifty-six percent say they oppose President Donald Trump’s decision to tear down part of the White House to build a 90,000-square-foot ballroom building.

What Trump and Republicans are doing — using the shutdown to withhold emergency SNAP funds that could feed millions — is sadistic. Literally reveling in their own cruelty.

They’ll cut taxes for billionaires but let children go hungry. A national scandal.

This Administration is illegally withholding available funds for SNAP and WIC.

1 in every 8 Americans relies on SNAP– including nearly 700,000 Marylanders.

The Senate must pass @lujan.senate.gov's bill that would force Trump to release the funding.

If @democrats.org need to pass a CR to stop SNAP pain, I’d be ok with it.

But I think they owe it to federal workers missing paychecks, waiting in food lines to *aggressively* get message out explaining why this stand had to be made.

FDR is your legacy. Do him proud.

This is no more a "reorganization" than a drug-addled South African billionaire's piracy of confidential data, and decimation of vital agencies, was intended for "efficiency."

This regime has systematically dismantled and crippled every scientific branch of the civil service.

They are traitors.

Why were the public
comments directed, not to the Federal Register, per the Administrative Procedures Act -- where the public would be able to see the many reasoned, urgent objections to the reorganization plan -- but to an email address?
Does OSEC believe we are as stupid as her cohorts?

Where is our leadership?

The reorganization? Broadcast to the entire agency YouTube.

The two extensions of the "public comment period?" Never announced until a colleague emailed a group list. The colleague's source? Reddit.

The chain of command has failed.

The administration’s
plan to reorganize the USDA, and to close the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center,
will impede and, in
many instances, end, vital research that benefits and sustains the world.

This account exists to spread awareness of the work of this facility — and the cost
of ending it.
