The U.S. military were not noble arbiters when the Lakota defended themselves from westward expansion. They will not be noble arbiters here either.

It'll be a 5 year "war on terror," a bombing campaign that makes the Vietnam War seem peaceful, every Palestinian exiled, and Israeli communities built on top of flattened Arab settlements. That's what's going to happen if even ONE thing goes wrong with this ceasefire.

It's only going to take one disgruntled Palestinian to toss a bomb at an American soldier or something, and then Gaza is going to be in an even worse situation than it already is.

Someone who recognizes Palestinian statehood and is not a blatant ally of Israel should oversee this.
