Careful! You're stepping on an unspecified volume of water in a state of indeterminate structural transition...
While I agree with you on your core points, my comment was merely created in jest. The juxtaposing idea of attempting to train real hamsters to front NHS adverts, and to do so with a particularly good grasp of English, just amused me. It really was nothing more than a bit of harmless levity.

I would hazard a guess that training a real hamster to do those adverts would take far too long, be too expensive and generally considered a waste of public money in such stringent times. 😏

Judging by their prosaic use of written (scrawled?) English, it appears that they are shouting at one American in particular. And based on recent events, that's presumably while the poor sod is handcuffed to a tatty table with the proverbial Anglepoise lamp directed at their face.

The soldier has the look of someone who is altogether not to sure about the wisdom of handing Badenoch an assault rifle.

Delightful, isn't it! It's just Manchester!

On the other hand, they were positively rapturous about Liz Truss and Kwasi Kwarteng losing billions in one day with absolutely nothing to show for it. The Daily Mail is just repulsive.

Presumably they mean pensioners over 75, right?

Many forget that the licence fee is much better value and cheaper than paying for Netflix for a year when you have multiple users in one household. And adverts are just an irritating intrusion when you already have a subscription. And lest we forget, 70% of Netflix's output is complete cack.

Good lord! They had Camping Gaz stoves, as well?!

It seems to me that they haven't actually sought the advice of the Metropolitan Police. If there is the likelihood of criminal elements travelling to the UK to disrupt the game and by definition, who are a significant security risk, then why not refer to the concerns of the police?

To be fair, regional operators tend to be different to national operators. And with that in mind, I am rather fond of the yellow & grey livery of the trams & buses in Greater Manchester, which are also publicly run. news.tfgm.com/press-releas...

Let's not forget that Orban has a penchant for silencing NGOs and generally speaking, any critical voices standing up for marginalised groups in Hungary. But of course, when it comes to free speech, he doesn't want it for anyone who doesn't agree with him.

Like all scary movies, it takes me some time to actually build up the courage to watch them and I always thought that there's something of Chucky about Truss. But to be fair, 'Child's Play' is a tad less creepy and has a far more compelling and believable narrative.

"Wines destined for export will be exempt from the requirement to list ingredients and provide a nutrition declaration for the internal EU market" - this sounds suspiciously like returning to the 80s/90s, when wine producers got away with selling any old shite to the U.K. market! Liebfraumich ahoy!

Based on what is produced by the BBC and the annual fee, it is actually very good value for money. And when compared to other public broadcasters & their output, which often cost more, the BBC is an absolute bargain. BTW, ORF in Austria recently changed to the contribution model: www.obs.at/english

The ORF (Austrian Broadcasting Corporation) is funded by the ORF-Beitrag – a mandatory fee that supports Austria’s public service broadcasting. This fee must be paid for every residence in Austria whe...
