I would add that the mask came of the moral rot that is causing the dissolution of the post WW2 world order when NATO failed to establish a no-fly zone over Ukraine on January 23rd, 2022.

Canada hasn’t had a long gun registry since 2012. As of 2019 Canada had an excellent system of gun control that balanced ownership of firearms with public safety.
Since 2019 Trudeau turned gun control into a cynical political game.
