Also fascinating is MLK's inspiration by Ghandi, and the amount of organization that was brought to bear. Another book I enjoyed was This Nonviolent Stuff'll Get You Killed. The civil disobedience was nonviolent but MLK had an armed bodyguard. The 2nd amendment is a mixed bag but it helped here.
