Hey, you know what's cool? An internet not manipulated by christo-fascists and hypocritical "moral" warriors.

Also, amusingly...

I think having the Corn Telethon playing 24/7 for a week in the background in my hotel room while I was working out of town may have juiced my the numbers... 😝

Also good mail day for this, which after bringing up @alexsteed.bsky.social's work at the bar with my friend (completely forgetting to mention that the two zines I gave her a while ago were from High Occulture), she brought up her and her friend from MIAD's appreciation of this book.

Good mail day from my friend Rachel at Low Star Studios (www.etsy.com/shop/LowStar...) I also got stuff for others but cannot show them here.

Fun fact: the cross country team nicknamed me after her brother before I met her a month later in the bus the first day of high school.

In his second novel, Matthew Stover sets his rag-tag group of mercenaries against a bunch of desert tribes and their weird god they keep in a box who are besieging the city of Jebus. This was probably the fifth book of his I read, and absolutely not a historical novel, but damn is it great.

I cannot express how flat this joke fell and the comments were all people talking about gas prices and me painfully pleading that it was just a stock photo. Too niche apparently...

You just can't find quality writing like this these days. Other simply cannot write like the inestimable Matthew Stover.
