when working on the Life Eater UI (a game about abductions in the name of a god that might not exist) i looped through Ethel Cain's Preacher's Daughter (an album about a religious girl being abducted-- "god loves you, but not enough to save you"). match made in heaven

as i'm learning more about my own diagnosis, i'm finding so many of the characteristics of autism are framed inaccurately/simplify a lot. "direct way of speaking due to inability to understand cues"? sometimes, but mostly i get the cues fine, just don't think that way of communicating is productive?

hmm good point... so many personal websites that are highlighted are by technologists and so there's a really homogenous understanding of what a personal website will have as content. i really like the stuff i see on Neocities, in that "wait. i can put this on my website??" way, it's a good reset

yeah i feel that for sure, late night means less energy needing to be spent in making sure you're doing-the-right-thing-at-the-right-time, which i find tires me out a lot. freeform time is the best for being creative.

i'm finding it hard to go to bed early, but want to be a morning person again 🤔
