I feel like Warner Brothers' rushing to do big team-up movies too soon, probably doomed the whole thing.

Rushing to compete with Marvel while refusing to follow the formula that made the MCU work in the first place was crazy.

There's an alternate timeline were post-9/11 America abandons Arabic numerals & invents new designs for the numbers. Calling them "Patriot numbers," or something.

And now all our sports jerseys would have whatever hideous numerals some Bush White House intern came up with while doing coke.

To be fair, if they used that as the example in school books instead of "attorneys general" or "courts martial," more people would retain this.

I'm a photography nerd and a theme park nerd myself, so this hits my sweet spot.

I dig when theme park enthusiasts explore and photograph those spaces the same way street photographers never stop mining for photos in even the most heavily-photographed major cities.

So, now that leadership sold out & threw the fight, what's next?

I'm a NM resident. I voted for you. You need to lead or very visibly join a push to replace Schumer now. You need to work to replace him with someone who will actually fight Trump, or I'm not voting for you again.

NM resident here. Voted for you.

You must lead or very visibly join a push to shove Schumer out of leadership now. Or I'm done voting for you.

Either Trump & his agenda are a danger and worth fighting, or they aren't. Strongly worded concerns while leadership throws the fight? Not gonna cut it.

So, the old guy's gotten more dotty and now needs more labels on things to keep his bearings and remind him which room is which, right?

"7 in 10" sounds low actually considering literally every consumable has gotten more expensive.

I definitely had nightmares before they even got around to showing us R-rated movies or real historical footage.

My earliest memory of the subject in school was them having us read NUMBER THE STARS, which I think would be considered a Young Adult novel. That kicked off the vivid nightmares.

I still vividly remember feeling haunted by the Holocaust as a little kid in the '90s, doing the math on how recent it was & being unsettled that it wasn't further away.

If I'd been a kid in the 1960s only a couple decades removed from that evil, I'd have been constantly freaked the hell out by it.
October 27, 2025 at 9:11 PM
It seems crazy to me for that writer to act like the Holocaust is a "cheap scare." I think it's a relatable fear that has lived in the imaginations of kids as they reached an age to start reading & learning about it. Especially many decades ago when it was less far-removed by the passage of time.

Oilfield Rando, who doesn't have a problem with the billions of dollars spent subsidizing the oil industry, thinks everyone but him needs to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and stop collecting handouts.

Re-watching Curb Your Enthusiasm with Cheryl Hines playing a principled progressive feels so weird now.

Like that movie where Kevin Spacey has a hero moment beating the shit out of a pedophile.

It reminds me of when NFL installed an ability to challenge interference. And refs clearly colluded to refuse to reverse calls. That was about coddling themselves. In this case, how does it benefit refs to willfully refuse to referee plays?

Are there prop bets about the tush push they benefit from?
October 26, 2025 at 8:01 PM
The refs letting them false-start on it constantly on those plays was already a pretty strong reason to shut it down. If they now also can't accurately gauge where and in whose possession the ball is on those plays, what are we even doing anymore?

Every Dem candidate should stand together promising, when elected, to force White House ballroom to be converted into prosthetic clinic for vets.

His White House wants to dismantle our constitution? Let them share space & lay eyes everyday on soldiers who literally gave piece of themselves for it.

This just makes me want to see a scene of Godzilla set where those giant redwood trees are (or a different kind of tree if there's bigger ones than that). I wonder if any of the Godzilla movies did that.

If you have time to lean, you have time to clean.

If you have time to eat, you have time to die on your feet... at work.

I feel like the only way Moon Knight is gonna be a thing is if Ryan Reynolds ever suddenly gets really excited about the idea of doing something cool with him in a new Deadpool movie.

It kind of proves that shortening "anti-fascist" to antifa is the entire reason why the right has had an easy time attacking antifa. They would give anything for the No Kings branding to have been shortened to NoKi at some point so they wouldn't have to sound pro-Kings when attacking it.
