Even looking it up, 0 thought was put in. It's just two flat percentage changes spread across the whole game.

The main reason I disliked GL is not necessarily because it was annoying, but more because when a new expansion added abilities to every job, half of the ones we got were purely for GL upkeep and it really limited creativity for this job. Fights getting cutscenes also guaranteed it would fall off.

I guess 5.4 Monk was the closest to a middleground because it had all the potitionals without GL, but that was also the most barebones iteration of the job because it didn't really have a mechanic to replace GL yet.
