Hope my legs don't break
In my Sorel boots
Can’t walk forEver
In my Sorel boots
Keep my feet togEther
In my Sorel boots
Walking back from mY work
In my Sorel boots
Feet they hardly touch the ground
In my Sorel boots
Feet just make squeak crunch sound

Makes me happy. Super wealthy people working TOGETHER, on a nation-building thing: ensuring that the HBC original charter remains in Canada, with a fund to make it available to FN and help with long-term preservation. Link to CBC online story about the Charter. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Niche northern: want it to get colder, so we get at least a BIT of sun, during our super short days.

Wow, Time Magazine. Did you get rid of fact-checking? Editing? Are you encouraging "research" using AI?

Feeling the dark days, W'tehorse peeps? Nature's winter pick-me-up, the American dipper, is baaack. Walk the M. Trail by the dam and listen. Cheerful, brave, fighty, ridiculous, soft-ball shaped brown birds diving into frigid, rushing water will make you feel better. Re-posting this bit of film 1/2

Now walk to work in full dark; walk home at dusk (full dusk soon). Whitehorse/Yukon drivers very unsafe for pedestrians. I wear a giant, reflective vest, like those worn by crossing-guards/daycare kids. Still have to watch myself/occasionally jump out of the path of cars: crosswalks/intersections.

First real night of winter cold, in many Yukon communities. Some places going down to -30C with wind, so risk of frostbite. Stay warm and be safe, friends.

A sad loss for my home province and for Canada. Journalists, take note: THIS is how you write the obituary of a famous woman (or any woman, really). Family, including the men in her life, are mentioned in the last sentence.

Finally remembered to use the Basspro gift card I got last X-mas! Shipping was free, so the card paid for a pair of fancy, insulated rubber boots, for fishing. Very excited about this whole thing.

Dinner: chicken seared/braised with sauteed onion, garlic, mustard, wine, Worcestershire sauce, cherry tomato and herbs; root veggies roasted with olive oil, salt, pepper, preserved lemon, lemon juice and thyme. #food 🍜

Dinner: eggplant stuffed with spiced lamb and pine nuts. Cous-cous and sautéed veggies dressed with lime juice, brown sugar and black pepper. Lamb was $17.99/lb! I was craving it and it + two big eggplants = two dinners + four lunches. Ground beef or mushrooms+cooked rice = cheaper. #food 🍜

With the warm weather, the Yukon has opened back up! Bad river! Not it’s fault, obviously.

When ice-fog stayed in Dawson City, enjoy more of the week’s menu at Bonton & Co.! Hoping for a clear run-way tomorrow afternoon.

Too ice-foggy to land planes in Dawson City today. So, I get to stay another night. Heading back to Bonton & Company for supper. Get to try things I didn’t get last night. Menu changes every week.

It is November, 20, in Dawson City, Yukon. It is just at/above freezing and I just saw a guy walking around in shorts. Where is winter?
