60 day status report. Able to get through N5 quite fast because I knew a lot of it already, but I'm still learning a ton. A lot of words are actually still new to me and I had little grammar knowledge previously so I've made big gains. Also yes that is 60 days in a row, no streak freeze nonsense

Sometimes I feel like I'm not making much progress in my Japanese learning. But tbh that's mostly because most content I try to consume is too high level for me. Coming back to easier content I find that I have actually progressed a ton :D

my hot take this November is that "cheater exposed" videos are a net negative to the speedrunning scene. they appeal to the base instincts of viewers and create acceptable targets of abuse. these things should be handled by moderators in private Discord servers, not shown to millions for humiliation
