TLDR:

Three weeks to go until the Dutch elections. Far-right PVV is still leading, but JA21 is the only party with any real support that's considering partnering with them.

The odds of coming out of this with a left-right coalition led by Labour-Green and Christian Democratic Alliance are pretty high.

In a press release, Texas Attorney General calls "transgenderism" a "corrupted ideology" that is "a cancer on our culture."

This is openly genocidal rhetoric about trans people from a sitting AG.

Will everyone be able to do it? No. Of course not. There are some people who sincerely have no way to make it happen no matter what. Those people are going to have to rely on each other more than anything else. But they will still need to be scrappy, resourceful, and cunning. That's non-negotiable.

Because honestly, why would they?

If you're serious about surviving, you have to be scrappy and resourceful. You have to be willing to let go of possessions. You have to be willing to sacrifice comfort for a while if necessary.

You have to get to safety first and worry about the rest later.

My wife and I (Americans, hi) managed to get the money to move "the normal way" and we *still* left 90% of our stuff behind.

We also had numerous backup plans to escape in case we couldn't make the OG happen. Our material possessions never even entered the conversation when formulating any of them.

But when Americans are confronted with the same set of circumstances under which people from many other countries would flee with nothing without a second thought and do anything to escape, so many just...refuse based on this materialistic, risk-averse mindset. Even if they could actually flee.
