I don’t know what to say abt this apart from how honoured and thankful I am. This paper really took a life of its own from the very beginning it came out. It’s a genuine product of interdisciplinarity, merging the philosophy of physics with chemistry.

Today Im taking part in a very different event on ‘Women & correspondence’ where I will talk abt Darwin’s correspondence w/ women and discuss it from the perspective of feminist critiques on his work

Feminist philosophy of science points out the mechanisms by which sexism has systematically affected women's health and helps us appreciate the different factors that influence how knowers produce knowledge claims. www.chemistryworld.com/opinion/how-...

For this instalment of Jargonium Asks, we are delighted to have Kostas Gavroglu Prof. Emeritus @ the Un. of Athens. He is an expert historian of chemistry, among the few who have illuminated the social, historical & philosophical aspects of early quantum chemistry

🚨 Today @chemistryworld.com launched a new collection on women's health. From menstruation to menopause, the articles reveal the stark gaps in medical research that have left women overlooked for far too long, and the people working to change the narrative: www.chemistryworld.com/collections/... 🔬💊
Women's health | Chemistry World
Many medical conditions affect only women, or affect them disproportionately, but women's health has historically been neglected in medical research. In this collection, we look at the gender gap in h...

Im keeping a sort of diary of my research during the #CReaCaL project through a series of short essays in @jargonium.bsky.social. @erc.europa.eu This is part II of my thoughts around chemical reactions as causal relations:

Symbols, pictograms and tables have always been part of chemical practice. Delving into that story is quite exciting! Here are some snippets of it in my new article @chemistryworld.com #CReaCaL @erc.europa.eu

I tried to give my take on whether water is wet for the BBC World Service - CrowdScience! The episode hosts chemists and material scientists too so this is a really nice & rounded way to approach the question. Here is the link:

BBC World Service - CrowdScience, Is water wet?
The wetness of water seems obvious - but dive into the science and it's not so clear cut

Thank you so much Richard!!! I still remember my first day in Bristol as a phd student when you welcomed us as head of department! How time flies!!!

Here is the talk I gave to undergrad chemists at Andrews University about philosophy of science & chemistry. Presenting philosophical issues to non-philosophers is hard and I wish I could explain some things a bit more carefully but what can you do!
