It's data analysis time at Evil Hat, so I'm back on my spreadsheet bullshit today. Who wants a look at how Evil Hat's catalog has performed in distribution invoices from 2010-2024 (+2025 YTD)? Being distro invoicing, it won't include IPR (we don't invoice them), digital, webstore, crowdfunding. 🧵

What I’m thinking a lot about is the difference between roleplaying games that say “this is how THIS world works” (in terms of setting up the logics undergirding play, trying to block bleed-in) vs. “this is how THE world works” (where it takes for granted alignment between player & character belief)

In 2024, Evil Hat's gross income was a bit over $1M. (We spent it all, so on net, we largely treaded water for that fiscal year.) Income sources were distributed as shown here. Distribution as always remains a big player. Second chart shows how that divides up, and illuminates the Alliance concern.
