An Abstract Illusion just made an incredible album with twists and turns blending 80s synths with crushing riffs and ethereal clean sections. Easily my album of the year.

Spun a couple of the Christmas gifts I got this year. Mercyful Fate and King Diamond are incapable of releasing bad albums. Yes some are better than others but none are objectively bad.

Listened to some Hulder last night then watched the Netflix Devil May Cry show. I was not impressed. It had some okay elements (the action, the villain) but overall it was a let down and was DMC in name only. Alternate universes are fine but this felt like bad fan fiction.

Explorer is 99.9% done, gotta cut a pick guard but I had one in a box that’ll work for now. Not a perfect fit but honestly, it looks kinda cool so maybe I’ll roll with it. I devalued this guitar a ton but I bought it to play it not sit in a fucking case for 30 years.

Finished Jon Padgett’s The Secret of Ventriloquism and it was pretty good. Some of the stories are better than others but none were terrible. The Infusorium, Murmurs of a Voice Forknown, and 20 Simple Steps to Ventriloquism were my favorites.

Oof, tough call because I get where he’s coming from but I understand both sides of this.
All my guitar projects are currently in limbo because nobody can fuck deliver shit when they say they are but this Arrow was a long time coming. Love the guitar but the black hardware and black EMGs just felt muted on such a nice finish. Chrome works much better.
