Happy new year 2026! Here’s the vasilopita I made … my kid won it YET AGAIN for something like the 4th year in a row.

A candle for this darkest night at the winter solstice.

If any listener has particularly deep pockets and feels like getting a holiday gift for me, the U87 is an entire $150 off on Sweetwater today. Such a bargain, it's practically free

Gotta hand it to Panasonic, my LUMIX was such a solid camera and I used it a TON. I last used it in 2011. The battery charged up just fine this morning and the entire camera still works flawlessly. Nice!

I found the CD and tracklist for the play so I don’t think the MD is related. What the heck is it for…

Anyway the tracklist is a hoot. This was 2001/2002, check out the gungy encoding on 15. So much of my music was like that 😂

I can’t believe I just found this buried in an old photo album. Best part is I never owned a MD player, still don’t, so I have no idea what’s on here! Probably music from a play I sound engineered in college but like… why was it on minidisc?!!

This weekend I was fighting a bad fever and honestly not very awake for a lot of it, but as a family we managed to get our Xmas stuff up, including our Trek tree. (Almost entirely 90s Trek ornaments plus general space/NASA/rocketry things.) We kinda morbidly call the star our crystalline entity 😅🫢

An incredibly busy day for work today - a full day of coverage and interviews at the NATO Cyber Range at CR14 and at the Estonian Ministry of Defense. We have a lot of work ahead to distill it all for a podcast series, & it wouldn’t be possible without Liz Stokes, my producer on this trip. The best!

Tallinn old town is really lovely!

Every red eye to AMS landed at the same time and passport control was slaaammed. 2h layover and I just barely made my connection. But I managed. Onward!

I’m headed to BOS now, will be flying out to Estonia 🇪🇪 Grey, cold and rainy here at home, expecting much the same weather there.

Got it! The Lego credit card processor seemed to be having issues when we were trying it (kept throwing errors) but going through PayPal worked. Good luck everybody!!

Snagged one of the Market Basket ornaments. I still need the parking lot Christmas tree, but the clock was my fave. Glad I found one.

For an alternative to the tuxedo tshirt, may I suggest the bike jersey version.

When my husband biked up Mt. Washington in 2022, he wore a tuxedo bike jersey. Photo proof that lycra hides sweat well, and for a politician, I'm sure it'd be great for coffee stains and uh... anything else, better.

I have joined the millennia of women before me who are affectionately/annoyedly scolding their cats for playing with the yarn while warping the loom

I have lived in Massachusetts almost all of my life and must be weird that I don’t mind taking leaves every year (yes raking, no leaf blowers). Moments like this still stop me in my tracks on a Saturday afternoon.

I recorded a video for our N2K and T-Minus 2025 retrospective and Pumpkin decided to join me, and for the record I am absolutely 100% okay with being upstaged by my cat.

Another shot of tonight’s aurora from my front porch:
November 12, 2025 at 2:19 AM
A bit further out but visible in Chelmsford
November 12, 2025 at 2:18 AM
Oh that is quite something. The eerie green glow is very visible to the naked eye here in Massachusetts, the pink looks like a very dark fuschia to the eye but reveals itself more on camera.

Busy making a certain sweater for my daughter. Appliqué on appliqué on appliqué… totally figuring this all out as I go.
