I would love for the rest of us in NE to follow suit. We also need so much more education for homeowners on better practices on this... I was up in Katahdin two years ago and our dark sky views were frequently ruined by cabin night-long floodlights shining up and out.

I am incandescently angry at this & the total cowardice of the Republicans in Congress who are not putting an end to this & this presidency immediately over this, the most important pillar of our entire national security strategy for 80 years.
Seeing Europeans contemplate creating a tripwire in Greenland is just depressing. That the US is now becoming Europe's enemy is so infuriating. So much wasted time, effort, capital, and so on for a non-threat (US has access to Greenland, it is protected by US already under NATO treaty).

It makes extraordinarily plain what so many of us have known for so long, I feel numb from anger at this point. The fact that the servers are still up and running right this moment is morally abhorrent.

I don’t think anything has enraged me quite like the Grok csam and abuse of women and people being largely silent about that. I’m sick to my stomach. People in power just letting this happen. The world people want their kids to grow up in: one where creeps can use AI to sexually abuse them.

Happy new year! My all sky camera imaged the sky every 15 seconds and this picture shows what happened in the sky in 2025. It shows the length of the night and day with the hourglass shape, the monthly lunar cycle with the diagonal bands, the elevation of the Sun at local noon, and lots of clouds.
