What folks need to realize about "peace talks" is that this is all theater for Washington. Ukraine knows that Russia has no intention of stopping the war, and the Russians know the Ukrainians know that. So this is just all a performance for Trump, hoping he blames the other for the lack of peace.

Trump’s problem is that while he may truly want to end this war, and the cost to Ukraine is probably pretty irrelevant to him, Russia clearly does not want the war to end. Trump may think that he’s working with Putin, but Putin isn’t working with him.

I have read nothing to indicate that it’s any different this time than in February/March, May, and August. The Trump admin is serving the same nothingburger for the fourth time. Media and analysts haven’t learned to see through the noise.

This is also great for the European defense industrial base... supporting Saab as a fighter producer is quite important. F-35 sales meant they lost out on the Nordic market (yes that was 5th gen fighter but the way companies innovate is by producing and having a larger market).
For context on how big a sale this is for Sweden:
Ukraine will purchase about 1.5x the size of the entire Swedish Gripen fleet.
~95 Gripen currently in the 🇸🇪 Air Force:
60 New Swedish orders of Gripen E to phase out older C/D (just started being delivered).
