Me too. I can definitely sympathize with the difficulties of toeing the line between mental illness and taking accountability for my actions or lack thereof. At the end of the day if I don't do it then it's nobody's loss but mine.

I'm the opposite! My fic writing is mediocre because I don't have the bandwidth to actively work on it! I'm fine with it and it doesn't torture or motivate me when confronted with works from people much better than I am.

I think it's also a good practice to have a hobby (pain) and a hobby (fun).

I'm in no way claiming I'm a decent artist but I like to think of myself as a success story in terms of artistic will and persistence against time and odds because I didn't start drawing until I was 22-23, and I only did it after I finished my pharmacy degree and passed my licensure exam.
