Not content with selling out Ukraine to Russia and thereby putting the security of America’s allies at risk, the Trump regime is trashing the reputation of US science and risking the health of its children by rewriting the CDC website to suggest a link between vaccines and autism

Maybe MMWR is just a bit too woke?

Maybe turning off NORAD will be next
The editors of the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) were apparently fired today.

The precursor to MMWR began in 1878 to address emerging public health threats rapidly.

We are not “great” without it. We are vulnerable to threats from sporadic foodborne illness to bioterrorism.

My thoughts on job advisers in GP surgeries. As you might guess, I'm not a fan.
Will make anxious patients worse. How about incentivising employers instead of telling patients to try harder.

Please know that this is Trump scaremongering.

There is no good scientific evidence linking paracetamol (Tylenol) to autism.

A 2024 Swedish study of 2.4 million births found no relationship whatsoever between exposure to paracetamol in utero & subsequent autism.

This is very exciting! A small clinical trial using gene therapy for Huntington's disease has been successful. microRNAs were used to edit the Huntington mRNA, stopping it making mutant protein that can damage neurons. Huge hopes now for treating such a devastating condition

Proud that my Uni commissioned this report: it'll be a hard read. Will be even prouder if they now act to redirect all ancient bequests linked to slavery & colonialism to fund/support more Black staff & students.
