A kingfisher called late at night and I thought it was saying Jesús. Now all I will hear when I hear a Kingfisher, is Jesús.

I feel like this photo of masked, armed men pepper spraying a pastor protecting his community is going to be a defining picture of this moment in America for a long, long time.

Robert Jenrick owns two £2m homes in London and a £1.1m manor house in Herefordshire. He's shocked by the poor housing conditions in Handsworth, apparently.

It's hardly the point but ministers should stop speaking as if they are in W1A "or something" because, "you know", "it ain't" a good look - or sound. Unless it is deliberate dumbing down. And oh, please "get real" about protecting the environment "or something". www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:
www.citizensinformation.ie/en/employmen...
Post from Threads user rodneyowl: "Ireland has declared the Basic Income for Artists scheme permanent. This will be officially announced in tomorrow’s budget. Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."

Autistic humans speak.

We say what we mean.

Clearly.

And still - people don’t hear us.

Not because we’re quiet.

But because they only listen for a tone that sounds like them.

So we get quieter.

Not out of shyness.

Out of exhaustion.

Out of apathy.

related ... wasn't it George Eliot who said often the greatest acts of history are the smallest and go unnoticed.

Badger in the kitchen! I hand fed this one (one of two in Devon) when I was a kid - this started outside the house I promise. But one day they found their way into the house... after two summers both the badgers stopped coming and I was gutted. Never found out why. #nationalbadgerday #stopthecull

What is it about right wing govts & needing to persecute people with disabilities? Punishing the poorest, whilst the rich take trips into space, is so 2025. Payments in the UK, are tiny!

A hen spends her life in a cage no bigger than an iPad , unable to spread her wings .

This #WorldFarmAnimalsDay , let's change that . For less than £1 , you can help free a hen & your donation gets a 50% boost all week long .

Let's do this: farmkind.giving/cagefree
