WIP of chapter 5 Of Take me back to the start
No JV in this excerpt, but boy I LOVE writing Camille Ferros. She’s a terrible human being and the most fun I’ve ever had writing character dialogue
Also I’m really getting attached to Reggie. The LoR canon is fun.
"Viktor was civil when we spoke," he says. "I would say he has good manners, given his origins." Camille gives him an encouraging nod. "But?" "He's clearly a proud man," he continues, "very assertive in his refusal. He wasn't rude per se, but I could tell he was displeased with our offer. I don't think he was trying to hide it in the slightest." "Arrogant?" she asks, with a slight twitch of her eyebrows. Reggie shrugs. "Hard to tell, I don't have the knowledge to judge his talent. Is it arrogance if his assessment of his own value is correct?" Camille curls the corner of her lips almost imperceptibly. "Oh, Reggie," she sighs, "you should know the world does not work like that. What the boy thinks he's worth is irrelevant. The question is what is he worth to us"

Sky clears her throat, with a slight hesitation. She was never the most assertive person when it comes to her needs, but for others? She can step up to help a friend for sure. "Mr Giopara," she whispers, "I think you are disrupting the quiet of the library." The man looks around and purses his lips in embarrassment, then he turns back to Viktor, leaning down slightly, so the two of them are closer. "Let's just go outside," he suggests, his voice lowered to a pleading murmur. "I see you are angry with me, but I don't know what l've done wrong. Just tell me and l'll fix it." Viktor scoffs. "You really want to know?" he asks, sarcastic. "Yes, " Giopara nods emphatically. Viktor sighs. "You know what? Fine. " Viktor leans on his cane to stand. "Let me tell you exactly what I think."

Just a reminder that chapters 1 and 2 of my fic for the Jayvik Big Bang are coming soon.
I asked myself what would have happened in a timeline where Mage Viktor did not save Jayce from the snowstorm. The result is a merge of LOL and Arcane lore.
I’ve been planning this for so long and I can’t wait.
