Apparently when the use of certain traded goods has a known rate of killing users like certain drugs.

Probably doesnt cover medically approved foreign drugs which may have some accidental mortality rate, probably not foreign guns either, nor cars...
Some rate of user death is fine I guess.

To be fair, he asked for professors.
Doing a PhD in wealth tax is a little less profitable than betting on the outcomes of a growing wealth disparity, mind.
But he was right that greens need to know the hard numbers if they are to survive a grilling. Inevitable, thus, poor prep by a leader.

Im only surprised that US policy seems to be a sort of post ww2 rebuilding of russia but without any of the important bits like getting rid of hitler or the nazi party ending up on trial and the population educated on what actually happened.
We want to trade to peace like our 2000s china policy.

Yeh, the thing that has bugged me about sanctioning the shadow fleet has been we havent spoken in absolute terms.
When we say we have sanctioned 500 or so tankers, we can only understand it when we know what percentage that is.
I support kinetic sanctions.

I refuse to leave a place where I still get decent people posting.
I cant post to linkedin as I prefer noone knowing their colleague has a Ukraine obsession.

We could always mix pension spending with the defence budget but recruiting old people.
A new mobil(ity) infantry division.
Or under MI6?

Yes it always stunned me that housing never caught up with population which is hardly unpredictable.
But who dares build enough to make houses cost 3-5 years salary again.
The only plus to this system is that more older people now have an asset that can pay for social care.
November 25, 2025 at 11:48 PM
Also makes government expenditure on wages and benefits etc higher to cover the same.
Though arguably I studied a topic that pays poorly.
The upside is it made me a nicer person and more understanding of both stats and social issues.
Id say many w.class families misunderstood the value of degrees.
November 25, 2025 at 11:41 PM
I did. I'd argue house prices underpin most of the issue. Homes used to be 3-5 years salary. Now they are 9-10. Thats 4-5 years salary not flowing round the rest of the economy affecting disposeable income. Wages then have to be high to pay those rents making employees expensive, hitting exports.
November 25, 2025 at 11:41 PM
Id recommend increased state house building as it would make for a clever way to get taxes, paid for by a sort of housing bond.
