I still like that the mentality that went towards remaking Yooka-Laylee (at least what can be assumed) can be summed up as "Make it less like Banjo-Tooie and more like Super Mario Odyssey."

It is rather relieving to know that 30FPS in Yooka-Replaylee isn't limited to the Switch 2, but is also present on Steam Deck.

That, and the glitches I'm hearing about, make me feel comfortable in waiting to secure my copy. This message likely (mostly) be sorted out when I take that plunge.

Knowing that Yooka-Replaylee is reviewing very well is really making me look forward to getting my own copy at some point.

And yea, while I could get it for a mere $20 digitally because I have the original, I'd honestly be willing to shell out a whopping $50 for the physical version.

This wouldn't be the first time Nintendo did animated shorts just for the sake of promoting the brand or branching off into other media without it being tied to a major game in particular.

Heck, we know it's not the first time they did it for Pikmin, specifically.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I really don't think this Pikmin short is anything more than just an animated short by Nintendo Pictures. I don't get any vibe there's a tease for a game or bigger announcement.

And animation isn't "pointless" because it isn't trying to sell you a specific product.

I'm probably gonna backpedal on the whole "draw every playable character from this year's racing games in 2026" idea. I'm feeling like it'll give me too much work to do throughout next year.

I will acknowledge gaming anniversaries or events thru my art in different ways, though.

I think I'll be fine if it isn't some big announcement, but rather just an example of Nintendo branching out into animation.

Even without this as a factor, I think Pikmin 4 Switch 2 Edition is pretty much guaranteed at some point.

Pikmin 4 makes so much sense for a Switch 2 Edition.

More single player and multiplayer content would be awesome.

What I would've done is added a zoom-in toward the baby's crib, and have a few Pikmin come out of hiding, then excitedly show that Pikmin were all around the room this whole time, then do the final shot where the Pikmin bloom their flowers.

Just a simple idea from a common animator.

I'm gonna be honest; I think adding a bunch of Pikmin to the otherwise unchanged Close to You short works to the film's detriment.

For one, It ruins the mystique of what the short was technically supposed to be about.

Plus, there's too much on screen, and it confuses your sense of focus.

Good thing Pikmin are confirmed to be imperceptible to the human eye, because I'd hate to think the Mom would see all this and immediately call an exterminator.

I've gotten into the habit of playing Super Mario Run to build up Platinum Points. You get ten for playing Toad Rally once a day and 50 for winning three times once a week.

No exclusive merch I feel the need to save up for right now, I'm just making sure I don't run low because of NSO Icon Parts.
