A series of 5 screenshots showing how to disable activity tracking for Instagram. 1 navigate to your profile, it is the rightmost button at the bottom from the opening screen, then click the hamburger menu at the very top right. Note these steps will need to be done for every unique meta account. 2 This is the settings and activity page, select the first button labeled “account center”. it has a pictogram of a placeholder headshot. 3 In the account center select the 6th button, labeled “Your information and permissions”. it has a pictogram of a head next to a piece of paper. 4 Select the 4th button, labeled “Your activity off Meta technologies”. 5 Select both of the bottommost 2 buttons, labeled “Clear previous activity” with a trash can, and “Manage future activity” with a clock. Under “clear previous activity” select the blue “clear” button. Under “manage future activity” select the second button labeled “disconnect future activity”. then you must press the continue button at the bottom. it will bring up a new prompt screen with information trying to persuade you. do not fall for it. click continue at the bottom again. it may take up to 48 hours for the setting to reflect that you have disconnected it. check again in 2 days and try again if they “”messed up””. The final optional step is to tell all your friends, family and even enemies.
