For his week's @newstatesman.com podcast review, I listened to The Trapped from ITV's @danielhewittitv.bsky.social. It's about the scandal in social housing, and listening made me feel sick.

Incredible reporting that will fill you with rage and disgust

Hi from Oslo. Nice to meet up with Norwegian PM Jonas Gahr Store. Like most incumbents facing tough poll numbers right now. But he is one of the smartest left of centre leaders. If anyone can turn it around he can.

I don’t know what the answers are for steep valleys with narrow valley floors and overflowing streams and rivers unless it’s water capture schemes on the hills.
Right now, it’s heartbreaking for so many.

⚠️ Pontypridd has been hit by devastating floods and our wonderful independent bookshop, Storyville Books, has seen much of its stock destroyed.

If you’re able to buy a book from them, this would go such a long way to help support them rebuild in the aftermath.

A very thoughtful interview with the wonderful Kim Leadbetter. @lewisgoodall.com put it so eloquently, and I agree - whatever your political views & your own thoughts about assisted dying, we need more people like Kim in politics - compassionate, listening, balanced. Thank you Lewis & co.

This is well worth a listen. Intelligent, thought-provoking discussion by @lewisgoodall.com and Kim Leadbeater on the assisted dying bill. So refreshing to hear things respectfully debated and not reduced to binary soundbites.

Would recommend anyone thinking hard about the assisted dying bill to listen to this one. Kim Leadbeater on her legislation, why she thinks the time is now and the legacy of her sister’s tragic murder.
