Congratulations to Congressman-Elect Walkinshaw!

I know that @jameswalkinshaw.bsky.social will honor Gerry Connolly’s legacy and deliver real results for working families in Virginia’s 11th District — and we are so fortunate to now have him in Congress.

The most tragic of ironies that the least competent lawyers in our nation are systematically tearing apart one of the crown jewels of our democracy. Elections have consequences, but the dismantling of DOJ will take generations to repair.

No matter how many times you hear your kid sing the national anthem in public, you never get over the nerves, the anxiety, or the immense pride that comes with it as a parent.

Happy Fourth of July!

Exactly right by @victorforvirginia.bsky.social: "ICE activity in state courthouses makes us all less safe" b/c it "sows distrust in communities & deters victims/witnesses from reporting crimes." And Rs aren't just cool with that, they're ENTHUSIASTIC about it. bluevirginia.us/2025/07/satu...

Earlier tonight, I joined my good friend & former DOJ colleague @ryancroswell.bsky.social for an end-of-quarter fundraiser. Ryan is running to flip PA-7, which is pivotal to reclaim the House in 2026, and he will make it happen with your support. Pls donate at ryancrosswell.com!

Lots of energy and community at tonight's kickoff night of the 9th Annual Power Up Women's Summit.

Democrats are fired up and ready to go this November under @abigailspanberger.com's leadership!

Great to see Rep. Don Beyer present the Clara Mortensen Beyer Lifetime Achievement Award to Rep. Gerry Connolly's family earlier today at event hosted by Providence Democrats!

Congratulations to @senatorhashmi.bsky.social and @jonesjay.bsky.social as they join @abigailspanberger.com on the statewide slate. We have work to do in the coming months, but I trust that the vast majority of Virginians will conclude in November that the Dem slate is what's best for Virginia!
Congratulations to @senatorhashmi.bsky.social and @jonesjay.bsky.social on their nominations to serve as Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General!

From now until November, we are going to work hard to earn Virginians’ trust — and their votes — in this election as one united Democratic ticket.

I've prosecuted acts of political violence. This rhetoric stimulates dark corners of troubled minds to commit awful, deadly acts. Cut it out @WinsomeSears, and I'd ask that you publicly disclaim these words tomorrow, so that they don't end up as a trial exhibit some day.

We're running out of time.

Do we want 287g in VA Beach?

To Virginia Beach Dems and local officials, especially @aaronrouse.bsky.social, please fix this. This is political malpractice or a bad case mixed loyalties.

There was one act of violence yesterday in Virginia, and it wasn’t done by patriotic Americans exercising their First Am rights, whom you threatened with the NG. It was done by someone for whom your and Trump’s rhetoric created a permissive structure of political violence. #hack
What are you talking about, Gov. Youngkin? Absolutely no one is talking about violence. Do you have any evidence or intel suggesting otherwise? If so, show it; if you don't, stop using OUR governor's office (it doesn't belong to you) and service members to chill free speech.
The Virginia National Guard is being positioned across the state in preparation for “No Kings Day” demonstrations against President Donald Trump, Gov. Glenn Youngkin said.

Our country suffered two heinous acts of politically-motivated violence yesterday, one in Minnesota and the other in Virginia. I'll have more to say later based on how the facts shake out. For now, my deepest condolences to all the families. RIP Melissa, justice will be done.

VA AG Jason Miyares @jasonmiyaresva.bsky.social, joined an amicus brief yesterday supporting Trump's federalization of CA's national guard. Today, a federal judge set both of them straight. This fight may come to Virginia, & we need a strong execs in VA who understand federalism to push back.
