Updating my event summary because Aaron did clarify this bit. I've noticed that people are losing focus, so I wanna add that the primary issue is a system that false-flags prosthetics as explicit. This is an issue Aaron has noticed, so it'd be nice to hear that it's being addressed.

Every appeal gets reviewed by moderators, but literally no social media site at scale can scan user content in a timely fashion for violations using only humans. They do not retain or train on any Bsky user data or images.

So an anime girl with prosthetics was labeled "explicit sexual content", & then we learn that prosthetics are commonly labeled this way, & then we learn that automod has been outsourced to this ai company, & THEN we learn that the ai company might be using all our images to train ai & mods go silent
