Indulging in a Massachusetts autumn morning: grey, rainy day, vibrant foliage, clam chowder, and looking for horror books to read in between chores, studying, and doom scrolling.

Gothic horror is appealing as I too wish to be without physical form, drifting through an old manor and wild moors.

This is October, the horrors are supposed to be on the outside, not inside.

Looks like cooked from frozen cheese pizza to me but that's likely because I was raised ferally and used to eat an entire Totino's pizza on my own for a meal (back when it was round).

Therapist suggested I carry a small notebook to write things down during the time between sessions that I might want to discuss.

So I am getting a booklet with Field Notes written on the front to write down my observations while studying myself in my natural habitat.

I've seen dark main spaces done well, but I lean toward lighter, golden plaster walls for that afternoon glow (and Bag End feel).

I have seen bedrooms and offices done in darker colors that looked cozy and wonderful.

Dark academia with global cultural touches is my style goals (hoping to aim for educational / appreciative instead of a colonial feel).

Wall color I want is a dark green (probably cooler toned). I have over a dozen paint colours I am looking at but at this point might just pick one and hope.

They are on special meds, flavored probiotics, and as many comforts as we can provide (one is 14 yrs, the other 2 yrs).

It is a VERY UN-FUN TIME.

White wine settles my stomach and reduces cramps, so I'm indulging.

The dogs are medicated, but the younger one cannot go to daycare for a month (her usual is twice a week) until the medicine and a 2nd test clears her and makes sure she doesn't spread it.

So apparently the younger dog picked up giardia and passed it to the elderly dog, and from the looks of things also to my spouse and I.

Additionally, it's the monthly my body hates me time, which includes my digestive tract.

So many to-do's this week and next, so little will.

Yesterday I got to walk around Yale campus and later a hiking spot doing photography things with a group of lovely, kind, and creative people.
Today I get to meet up with and spend time with two friends I haven't seen in person since before the pandemic.
