I'm a fan of the design for sure. I've even built the classic version from the White Dwarf templates for my Novamarines. Here pictured with @wib.bsky.social 's lovely Lamenters version (lovely in that its well painted. Lamenters aren't lovely. Boo Badab secessionist)

Also I totally called it right three months ago when this was sneakily put in the new Legions Imperialis book 😂 Not even subtly it's a whole page image.

These guys are coming out pretty nicely. Think I'm nearly there with all the Legion unique squads for my Ultramarines. Got to make a Praetorian Breacher squad and then I'm all set.

Another update. Managed to get quite far with these guys today. Which is good cos they've got to be done by Friday as well as getting a bunch of other guys finished 😂 love to give myself a challenge.

But it's the biggest Legion and despite being very regimented probably has a huge amount of variation so do what you feel looks cool.

Spent most the day building these, partly because I kept throwing tiny pieces on the floor and partly because I had to print four different variations of the launchers before I liked how they fit. But now I'm very happy with them.

More terminator bits comparisons. This time slapping some different combinations of arms and shoulder pads on to the new body style. They are only bluetaced so a bit droopy and misaligned. But you still get the general idea.

Some scale comparisons between the new termies and the old. All the extra height seems to be in the legs and waist. Also going to see what the old arms look like once I've got the body together.

Been spending time finishing up my Ultramarines. I painted a lot of them up quickly for a game weekend but they were pretty rough. Now trying to get all the fancy bits done like transfers and proper basing.

Fancy full colour instructions, that's a step up from most Heresy kits... not that I'll be following the instructions all that much for some of the minis 😄

Couple of extremely quickly painted test minis for Kriegsmen. Forgot their shoulderpads woops.
My take on the 143rd scheme. I think I like the right with the mode blue coat more.

Another experiment in airbrushing contrast paint. This is Blood Angels red. Which went on suuuuper translucent and and kinda darker than I expected? Not an awful base coat but I think it'll need something brighter to help it pop.

It's amazing what a productivity booster an airbrush can be when it's working properly. An hour more work and I've put a little pass of Yriel Yellow on the Achilles and base coats on a pair of Vindicators and a Proteus. At this rate I'm going to have to build more tanks.

First attempt at spraying contrast paint through my airbrush. Pretty good. Very vibrant and quick to go on, but also extremely transparent so my under painted brown is a bit more obvious than I'd intended. Still lessons learnt.

Anyone have any recommendations for light grey/off white acrylic airbrush primer? I've got a bottle of Vallejo surface primer but it clogs my airbrush after minutes. The bottle is old and probably full of crud, but if I'm buying a new one may as well try something else if there's better options.

So Star Wars Legion. The new minis look fantastic, and the current edition of the rules seem pretty playable from what I can tell. Anyone I know playing it? Kinda tempted to pick it up in the coming year.
