Credit history will still be intact because it uses your social security number.
But if you change your ss card back to maiden name, then you’d essentially have to change everything else, at least upon renewing.
It’s a whole insane process. Yet they make it so easy to change TO husband’s name.

That makes perfect sense. Why should I change the name on my photo ID when for the last 47 years, my married name has been used? If I change back to my maiden name on my photo ID, then that name won’t match anything concerning my financial history.

I don't need a passport as I don't even fly anymore. I'm pissed the government thinks my birth certificate name should match my current name as a woman who is divorced and will force me to negate my identity/credit history for nonsense reasons
