I have cut back a metric shit ton. I can even go a few months w/out resorting to it. But it wasn't all just easy/peasy. And I can't afford to just say f*ck it and pay extra. Luckily, local groc. is amazeballs & I get great quality food/basics/rX at good prices. Makes a huge difference.
