113 emails in my Gmail and today's the day to get that back to 0...

In 19 days I will be 40, and to be honest I am dreading it. I am not that bothered about how I look, I was never into beauty, but I feel such a huge failure with my mental health these last 18 months, and that wasn't how I wanted to reach my 4th decade

Couldn't believe how happy our eldest was up at uni. Got an ideal little job, great accommodation, sees friends for cinema and pub, and does regular D&D, oh, and uni is going well too

Couldn't be prouder to see a person come so far!

Wish I had it half as together!

Early evening card games and bedtime stories with family make it worth getting to the end of each day

My world has been so small while I'm off work/uni and I haven't seen my few friends, so the kids and my partner have been a little world worth trying for x

(and our 8 yr old keeps winning)

#Peacemaker S2 & #OnlyMurderersintheBuilding S5 have been so precious to me these past few days

Not just great TV, but comfort, escape & companionship in hard times with my #mentalhealth

I have great people in my life, but sometimes I'm so overwhelmed, I just need to switch off with TV I trust

Huge thanks to my partner & mam for holding everything together while I was unwell, and for helping me creating such special family moments even when I wasn’t at my best

I didn’t take many photos as I was focused on wellness and presence but my partner got this amazing view from our room

I’d hoped to be there to run the #Glasgow half marathon too, but my #mentalhealth had other plans and I wasn't fit enough for it...

...One consolation we'll all remember was eating the best doughnuts in Scotland/UK/the World from tantrumdoughnuts.com

So glad our long-planned trip to see the eldest just about went ahead. Between my illness and the storms, it felt almost impossible

My #mentalhealth has robbed me of a lot, but not this. It was a little chaotic and quite stressful, but I got to see my eldest, and that matters more than anything ❤️

One Battle After Another - sounds about right in more ways than one, given the last few weeks I have faced

Incredible performances and the best car chase I have seen in forever, but most important was some valuable time with my better half

Had a hard day? Feeling defeated and down? Watch the Peacemaker S2 opening, watch the show or not, it is the most uplifting thing you will do today 😊

The music and the choreography are amazing - gets cleverer if you watch the show, everything is tied to the unfolding plot and character development

Autism is back on the front pages. Why not read the book that my excellent @manchester.ac.uk @manchstm.bsky.social colleague Dr Bonnie Evans has published on the history of autism? It's open access and you can read it online for free.

#MyChemicalRomance have added Liverpool and Glasgow shows to their UK tour

Can't believe MCR are coming to 2 places I could easily reach on train and I dont have the time or money to go!

Going to go and do an emo style sulk and cry in the corner now 😢
My Chemical Romance add Liverpool and Glasgow shows to UK tour
The band will headline Anfield Stadium on 30 June, before a show at Bellahouston Park in Glasgow on 4 July.

Whether they're blaming vaccines and Tylenol, or selling dubious "remedies," what they're really doing is promoting the perception that families (and especially mothers) can prevent and treat Autism. And thus also the perception that people with Autism and their families don't need social support.

Clear takeaway: trusted #VCSE partners make the difference in reaching people and shaping meaningful research

Exactly what my PhD research is all about!

Currently in the end phase of a NortHFutures funded project on eating distress & food insecurity

As Sr Research Assistant I worked with Eating Distress NE, local food groups & academics (Northumbria Newcastle, Teesside) to explore how poverty + eating distress intersect

Kicking off Day 1 of the NortHFutures Digital Health & Care Summer School in @newcastleuni.bsky.social 🎓✨

Three days of lightning talks, challenge day, poster sharing + unconference with PhDs/ECRs across NENC

Now gathering the supporting evidence from someone who knew me before age 12 (harder to find than you'd think) so I can get my #Autism assessment underway

A dehumanising form dredging up childhood loneliness, communication struggles & mental breakdown. At least it’s progress, even with a 2year wait

Spent 8 hours filling in everything about my life, health and family, plus all the mental, physical and social assessments, but FINALLY submitted my Right to Choose #ADHD self-assessment! Now just the #Autism one left to tackle

PSA: there’s more people facing hunger in the UK than the combined populations of London, Manchester and Glasgow.

In a world that's increasingly hostile and divided, it was so nice to be with my family at the Gateshead Community Food Festival in Saltwell Park today

Crafts, stalls, talks, and plenty of discussion on preventing food waste and ethical growing

Can you imagine if adults were told their broken leg couldn't be treated because the funding for was all being used for kids' fractures?
"The emergency policy [no funding for adults] was introduced to address unacceptable ADHD waiting times for children".

Great talk by @keatesresearch.bsky.social on #autism, #ADHD & diagnostic journeys. As someone awaiting diagnosis, that really resonated

Big takeaway from today, other than good healthy food, is seeing these academics treat everything as holistic, lifelong & connected

Looking at the employment life course as a lifelong journey rather than just a medical model or current situation. Welfare and mental health, through a Social Policy lens. Why can't we do this in practice?!?!?
