Hamnet is such a beautiful and amazing film. Loved the book, and the film is just as good. And yes, I cried a lot.

just a second. did you all know that Zohran Mamdani is MIRA NAIR'S SON? Mira "made the movie Monsoon Wedding" Nair?
all this time I have not been knowing that he is someone who *understands the value of the arts*?

(I shared a cab to Mexico City airport with her once. She's great.)

Most French thing ever. Respect. 🍷
A French cyclist survived for three days after a horrendous 130-foot fall into a ravine, kept alive by the bottles of red wine he had in his shopping bag, police said.

My husband @mjowen174.bsky.social is very down.
He’s struggling to find any work at the moment.
He’s a brilliant writer and has written for Dangermouse, Private Eye and many more…

If you need a writer have a look at his website and please repost.

Loved the V&A exhibition 'Marie Antoinette Style'. There was a little girl moaning that there weren't any princesses. Felt quite bad for her 😀.

A paean to privatised public transport.

Today I had to go from Stockport to Salisbury. So I bought a ticket

Stockport > Bristol > Salisbury

The drive to Stockport should have taken 35 minutes. Satnav said it would take 2 hours, and I'd miss my train.

So I went to Macclesfield, where I found...

Been to Kew Gardens for the first time (I know, shame on me, should have gone years ago) and I absolutely loved it. Even though the temperature in the Palm House almost killed me 🤣. @rbgkew.bsky.social

I didn't know until we buried my mother, so probably most people here don't know: Jewish cemeteries strongly recommend that you get insurance for the headstone.

Because the cemeteries are so often desecrated, the gravestones smashed.
