https://github.com/bluesky-social/feed-generator has a pretty good overview of how "What's Hot?" works, for what it's worth. Seems to be pretty much "What got liked the most, recently?"

Cool, didn't realise that they already implemented support for BlueSky, given that I had to use the "Old" version, earlier on, to sync my Mast O'Don Followers. Will be fun, when more folks arrive, here, since the UX seems nicer, than the elephant service...
