Someone asked me if there is a page that collects all the weird bullshit "AI" products currently being pushed to the market.

That page exists. It's called linkedin dot com. But nobody there knows that they are in the asylum.

Sounds rough. Nobody you can stay with as backup plan? I'm also out of a job myself for now, slim margins here.

Broke as fuck, and on the verge of becoming homeless, unless I can find £1000, by tomorrow. Looks like friends, family, and loan sharks can't help me, at this point, short of some miracle happening...

Everybody knows that Soviet sent a dog named Laika in space

Few know it was later followed by two similar dogs, Shara and Subscriba.

I'm not a very smart person but here's my big prediction for how AI is going to affect creative endeavors: we are going to start seeing a bunch of AI shit trotted out and it is going to be VISCERALLY unpleasant. People are going to bounce off of it like wile e coyote and a brick wall

Looks like I've finally arrived, in that elite club, of invitation-havers! Let's see, if the friend that I gave it to, decides to join the BlooSkee side...

I weirdly don’t hate the design of https://www.freetelly.com but what I do hate is the implication that all my data and surveillance can be bought for a TV valued at $500. Look, Google knows everything about me but they’ve given me tons of “value” at least.

Sorry to be a climate emergency buzzkill but I’m pretty gobsmacked people are fleeing wildfires IN CANADA and it’s NOT EVEN SUMMER for five more weeks.

If you’re not paying attention, you should.

I write a lot about misinformation in science.

When our leading society journal perpetuates it, that's a big problem because other media outlets follow their lead. Here's NPR:

Aaw, so they don't want the inevitable request, to change "Post", to "Skeet". I'm sure that someone's going to try, anyway, though...

Thinking that the future of "Elon-free", less-toxic, higher-quality SNSes is going to be interesting. I'm sure we'll end up with "VHS, vs. BetaMax", but having more options, and players validates the idea of decentralised communications platforms, so let the race begin!

Guess what? You can rebuild the Bluesky app without writing much code because we just open sourced the code for this app. Why are we doing this? Because we are philosophically open-source...

We believe sharing = more people building WITH us.
alright folks, the app code is now public
