What helps big time for me is that I’m moving to a place that’s a little bigger (extra br and a bigger storage space). So although I should be getting rid of stuff, at least it’s not crushing like downsizing.

I ask him how he's doing, he says he's looking forward to spring flowers. I let him know it's fall, he corrects himself to say autumn leaves.
Then he gets overwhelmed and says, "Okay, I'm going to hand the phone over to Mom," and then I talk to her for a while.

We have the same conversation most days. It's mom's cellphone, when she's visiting him, he says hello, sometimes his voice is shaky. He asks how things are going. I tell him I'm moving and then he asks about my job, which he has already forgotten what it is, even though I've been there for 3 years.

I was crying and I was on the phone with my Dad and he told me that this sucks but has a high success rate, just keep going and I will make it through.

I spoke to my Dad today, but I can't go to him for stuff like this anymore.

For some reason I made it through moving out of the house in the NE without a blowup. Probably because I had less stuff like books and art supplies back then. But leaving Durango, even though I only had one room. I had a meltdown.

So my "process" is this:
I start packing up some area (bookshelf, storage, dresser), but I don't finish it because I get stuck on some part of it. So after a while, I have a bunch of things 25%-75% done. I freak out, because nothing is 100% done and my brain tells me I will fail at moving.

I'm in the process of moving. I like my new place, I'm a little sad leaving the place I've been at for over 13 years too.
Anyway, over the next few weeks I'm probably going to post "moving sucks" posts. Feel free to mute my handle and the word "moving" for a month if you would rather not see them.

Yeah, but you need that done before the election. If you want to become an appointed PCP, you can do that right now, and that's how that happens - but the good news is there's like a 99.9% chance they agree to appoint you.

There are currently a zillion open precinct committee people positions at Multco Dems as we speak. Just be a registered Dem, vote in elections, and then contact them on their webpage about it. They will vote you in as a PCP in the next monthly meeting.

Years ago I had a repetitive job in a lab. I would listen to music and podcasts all day, and that's when I liked having the Spotify suggestions, because I was looking for new music then. The suggestions I go were good and I still listen to them to this day.

I buy songs through iTunes.. I mean "Music" on my mac/iphone. I think also part of it for me is that I will buy one song and then listen to that one song a lot of the next few weeks, so I'm not searching for variety and suggestions a lot, like Spotify specializes in.

grateful portland has risen to the challenge so far in peacefully protesting the ICE facility and that nationally we're all cheering on the frogs but I think it's important to make sure everyone is aware that the ICE goons aren't exactly being peaceful in return
