the more i distance myself from the subscription lifestyle, and see it more from the outside perspective, the more it genuinely sickens me. its like everyone just gave up their agency for the illusion of abundance. but once you stop paying, all of that vanishes and you have nothing.

own never actually went away. they still make DVDs/blurays. hell you can even rent them for free at the library, you dont need to pay a corporation for that. CDs and vinyl too, they still exist. we all just became so used to being spoonfed endless content that we surrendered our right to own.
