Yeah the closed beta = auto verified because the devs personally selected people to join so we were all already greenlit so to speak

Verification now is a bit rougher. They do manually review every single applicant to be sure people are legit

The mods + devs have stated there are "hidden requirements" that they don't share as they don't want bad actors trying to circumvent them

I will say tho that based on artist rejection reports, having past due comms at any point is def a factor
