Canva also has a history of going "wow look how free/cheap our product is"

And then suddenly scaling up fees to an unreasonable extent

Affinity is ramping up to something which they will reveal Oct 30

We don't know what it is, but it's safe to assume this has to do with it

Of note affinity was purchased by Canva a while back, and Canva is VERY pro AI

I hear and see your concerns. Over the weekend, a couple users hosted on Blacksky's PDS were banned from the Bluesky app and thus the Bluesky API servers. This was a weakness of our system I've been aware of and hoped we had more time to address before any kind of public incident. 1/11

Unfortunate update: Link reached out to BlueSky and got email back now on reason.

His appeal is denied. He will remain permanently banned on BlueSky’s side.

Here are the screenshots he just sent me as of 8:22 AM EST(my time)

an unfortunate irony about this post - and even if you are the staunchest anti-ai critic out there, i think you’d agree - is that some of the most bigoted things are being said to respond to this. copy/pasting phrasing and terminology used by bigots but replacing “dna” with “bits” doesn’t make it ok

Selling fan art is not fair use, no. A lot of companies tend to have an unspoken policy of "if you stay quiet/dont make too much we'll leave you be" but they absolutely CAN cause an issue about it

However some companies have fan art policies that allow sales so I'd recommend sticking with those!

There are these WAFFLES places in Berlin that, in a nice touch, will write your name in chocolate sauce. This was a good effort! Lebanese (I think) staff working in Germany trying to understand an American guy's name. I love this world.
