the honeymoon period isn't wearing off of BF6 and i think the biggest reason why is that the devs have fully embraced bots being in the multiplayer.

there are multitudinous reasons why i have been advocating this since Battlefield 4

this is the opposite of a problem, it means that players are hanging around to play more matches in a row without feeling the need to server-hunt
voidmother.bsky.social
i've noticed multiple occasions since release where I've been in a server for an hour or more and have noticed the same core squads on both teams regardless of match outcomers.

that said, i can clearly tell when i'm fighting humans as opposed to AI because it inexplicably takes 10-15 more bullets to complete a kill on a human player than an AI, but we're not dealing with an unfinished game needing more development like the last 6 BFs, this is "ironing out" level stuff

basically, no matter when you play every match is guaranteed to at least partially be W+M1 numpties you can mow down for easy progression, you don't have to server hunt because you get instant matches, and you don't have to worry about winning too hard bc if everyone quits you get more W+M1 numpties

third off, if a match does completely fall apart, it prevents the degradation of the experience for the winning team because they are not "rewarded" with sitting around shooting at the five or six players who bothered staying.

second off, it completely obviates the need to fully optimize matchmaking. players who opt to stay in a server after a round ends are rewarded with the next one starting basically immediately since nobody has to wait around for the server to fully populate

first off, a game like Battlefield simply doesn't function if every single person in the game is pro-level MLG Sweats. 64 players in a server all trying to do Optimal Movement on each other with only the most meta weaponry rapidly leads to a breakdown in gameplay experience

gotta be honest. i'm struggling to come up with (gaming) reasons to be negative on BF6

finally, after 16 years, one of these games that's just Fun

a character in Battlefield 6's campaign makes reference to events from Battlefield 4's campaign, which means canonically that war happened, which makes the kerfuffle in 6 technically World War IV lol

np: Road Trip (PS2)

despite the rather generic and unassuming title, this is actually a relatively rare English localization of a video game for Takara's Choro Q super deformed toy car line. it's an racer where you play as an anthropomorphic car trying to get elected President

oh FUCK yes. best thing i've read all day
However, the AI in Tekken 3 was also toned down compared to its predecessors, making fights (especially later stages and boss battles) significantly easier to beat (a notable example being the relative ease of beating the final boss, True Ogre).

I've made a huge mistake/great decision.

the map is so big it took me nearly five minutes to drive to the next city. and you can go into almost every single building and every single car on the entire map has a sidequest

i'm. i'm shocked

You can name the currency used in game. Since you can only use four letters, my plan to name it the dollarydoo is bust. but I can be a little problematic.

Look how adorable I am!
A screenshot of the PS2 game Road Trip, showing the player, currently an orange generic K car, on a road with a feudal Japanese vibe.

ah, if it only were that simple for other applications
A screenshot of the PS2 game Road Trip, in which the President of the United States, a green sedan, declares "I'm tired of being President! Why do I have to be locked up in this small room!!!"

to this end it's an open world RPG where you talk to other cars to recruit them to your team, gathering sponsorships and even founding your own city to pump an economy up to fund your bid to win the World Grand Prix and be elected President.

i'm quite excited to get around to this one, actually

Thinking about that time the My Little Pony comics, of all things, absolutely bodied Scott Adams.
Close up of Pinkie Pie looking at a newspaper comic saying “Hmpf. I thought these were supposed to be funny?”

The comic is called Ponybert by Trot Adams. It opens with a building and we see a word balloon that says “Well?” The second panel is of Ponybert, the Dilbert stand-in saying “No one is smart but me.”

GFN rigs keep crashing when I try to switch Battlefield 6 to campaign mode, lol

I'm putting up octuple kills with six teammates around me and jumping onto the point to find eery single one of them running the opposite direction like. i'd almost rather play with the AI because they at least move *forward*.

just lost a match of Battlefield 6 in which the fourth place player on my team out of 24 was an AI bot.

just in case anyone thinks i exaggerate about how bad my teams in FPS are
