' but that also kind of returns to the fracture lines brought about the question who that is for and who gets to truly enjoy that kind of comfort, even in the context of fantasy--who is reading it, who is writing it, etc)

(as always, something to be said about the associated misogyny that accompanies the interest of women, but much like Twilight just because many women and girls like something doesn't make it good or inherently progressive. Also something to be said about normalizing non-bigotry as a form of 'comfort

Leisure because, much like romantasy, it's framed as inherently progressive because it is mostly written by women for women (but again what kind of women is a question that should be asked). It's like Star Trek without the context of the Eugenic Wars, utopia without the work.

That ironically flatters the ideals of the society that created those pressures because its also defining what comfort is (who deserves it--there is a racial component to this kind of stuff a lot of people like to ignore).

I think a lot of cozy fantasy get aways with reactionary attitudes towards..

Necessary for freedom. I don't think it's a coincidence that the most popular cozy fantasies are essentially suburban fantasies about becoming a small business owner. If the furthest you go, in your rejection of pressure of modern society is comfort, you're going to inevitably create a narrative...

You're not doing nonviolent direct action, you're going for state-sanctioned walks that have nothing to do with anything in any meaningful way, and that's why your 'protest' have zero political affect on reality

I think you should go read MLKs Letter From Birmingham Jail, and understand he was writing about you

complaining about fucking traffic while fascists roam your streets kidnapping and murdering people lol

Your tactics lead directly to the empowerment of a fascist government that is killing people in the middle of the street in broad daylight with zero consequences

A billionaire wasn't the reason why George Floyd died, it was a small business tyrant and a cop

I actually think you can think about the revoking of whiteness from white individuals who act in solidarity with racialized people as a kind of necropolitics, or at least might be a useful framework in exploring these kinds of issues.

Why did she dedicate it Trump? Why would someone do that?

You people, collectively, have like, tops, three brain cells and they are all dedicated with not acknowledge the cognitive dissonance that is the entirety of your existence.

Anyone who wants to remove homeless people from sight is okay with the violence of policing, for instance. I've had conversations with people who've been, up to the point, in political lockstep with me, but as soon as the homeless comes up, well now maybe we need police.

Plenty of left-wing people have solutions, you just don't want to hear about them because it involves actually changing society for the better, and not just putting a veneer of politeness over the brutality of it.

2020 had your ICE solution: abolish it.
January 7, 2026 at 9:58 PM
If Democrats didn't want ICE around murdering people they should have stopped funding it and made to abolish it. It's not even 3 decades old, Obama could have done it, he didn't. Biden gave it, up till that point, its biggest paycheque in its short history. Democrats are complicit.
