People do not need "AI literacy".

They need a gd intro to statistics and probability course.
This crosses my mind every time I see a breathless article about LLMs "developing survival instincts" or "resisting being shut off" or "blackmailing their operator"

That's not how this works. It's not how any of it works.
I cannot tell you how many tech journalists at prominent media organizations do not understand this

“AI” isn’t a tool or technology or even a cluster of technologies with a misleading name. It’s the infrastructure at the foundation of a form of capitalism dependent on data brokering. We should be teaching our students about this and not teaching them about “responsible” use.

President Johnson, in a November 9, 1968 letter to the Smothers Brothers:

“It is part of the price of leadership of this great and free nation to be the target of clever satirists . . . May we never grow so somber or self-important that we fail to appreciate the humor in our lives.”

Shocked but not surprised to learn how many ~titans of industry~ who probably think of themselves as brave ballsy businessmen are actually cowardly pieces of shit when it counts.

The way to do the Mamdani thing is not to copy the surface attributes of his communication pieces, it's to

1) know yourself
2) stand for something
3) understand and respect your audience

If you have contempt for people with less background knowledge or expertise than you, you will never ever reach them.
