Why is the GOP turning against Ukraine? Some possibilities.
A) It takes two to Tango. The Democrats could just give in and fork out that border money - but that would be conceding a victory to the GOP. Ukraine is just a means to an end in petty party struggles.

The Media migth want to rethink it's strategy as well: There is zero coverage of Ukraininan ground forces movement. We neither hear of their strength nor supply status nor morale, not even the units names are published. At least name the units, so that people can care for them

Next topic: For an Air-Heavy approach, a number of capabilitiesnare nessecary. Very high ul on that list is a deep-strike-capability. The logic of aerial warfare in the age of stealth is simple: It is very hard to detect, track and destroy a 5th gen figther.

In naval terms, Germany is massivley under-strength. With only 15.000 sailors, it has fewer naval personell than Turkey (45.000), France (42000), UK (33.000), Italy (30.000), Greece (30.000) or Spain (20.000). However, there are good reasons for an navy-heavy-approach to the Bundeswehr.

It always perplexes me that people will argue that Israel commits genocide in Gaza, yet they ignore the fact that Israel is literally sacrificing its soldiers lives by the dozen to protect Gazan civilians. If it wanted genocide, Gaza would have been turned into glass already.

As a reminder how media attention shapes our perception of conflicts: In Tigray, orders of magnitude more people were killed in two years than in the entire Israeli-Palestinian conflict since 1948.

Ways to screw up if you are a roman emperor:
- Recuse yourself to a giant palace on a tiny island.
- Humiliate the commanding officer of your praetorian guard
- Be in the way of your adopted son
- Panic after you killed and partied way too much
- Adopt the wrong successor & let your guard be bribed

One hughe thing that happened largley unnoticed in western media this year: The PLAAF got its WS 15 engine into initial production. That is bad news for russian engine exports. It opens up the possibility of large scale production for J 20 and J 31.

Netanyahu has ruled out the option of giving Gaza over to the PA. He has claimed political reasons, i.e. the martyrs fund, but the PA will be glad, since its authority would crumble under any additional pressure. Leving the PA out and Israel unwilling to assume civil responisbilit

The Bundeswehr has just been promised a 2% GDP budget. On the other hand, conscription has been ruled out once more. Recruitment is low and the ranks are depleted. Question: What can you do with fewer soldiers, but more money? A thread.

What are possible solutions for the Gaza Strip after Hamas has been destroyed? Here are some Ideas.
A) Turn Gaza over to the PA. This is most likely the preferred option for Israel, since they know how to deal with the PA and the PA knows that armed resistance does not lead to it´s goal.

Israel has described its strategy as being deterrent. For reasons I try to explain, this never worked well and has now failed. It might be able to push Hamas out but it can't replace it. How then can the aftermath be managed? Israel: Beyond Deterrence

Macron already tries to stop Israel right in its tracks, and as things normally go in near-eastern politics, his view will gain more traction over the next few weeks. This could result in a true disaster: Israel forced to tolerate Hamas in Gaza while it still holds hostages and fires rockets.
