I cannot explain how excited I am for Wildwood. It is going to single-handedly get me through 2026. Laika’s movies have always been an inspiration or me- Paranorman is one of my top ten of all time. The sneak peek makes me want to break out my old DIY stopmotion rigs and shoot some stuff. 🎥🎬

Making thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. Last grocery run this morning. Plans right now are a vegan lentil “meat” loaf, homemade sour cream chive rolls (from Claire Saffitz’s Dessert Person book highly recommend), garlic brussel sprouts, sweet potato hash, and baked pumpkin oats w/ pecans for dessert.

More lunch break books!! This week it @bethhetland.bsky.social’s “Tender” and @jamesthefourth.bsky.social’s “The Deviant” (v1). Had to read these with my back to the wall, but loved them!! The pacing of Tender was delightfully unsettling and The Deviant was a bloody treat. Two thumbs up!! 👍

Both are pretty topical, and are about as subtle as a brick to the face (but unfortunately read no less true). Great books! I think I prefer the readability of Roland Boschi’s pencils for Roller tho.

In my serious effort this year to eat a min 80/20 (goal 90/10) whole foods to ultra processed diet, I gotta say a bowl of like 170g greek yogurt (nonfat no added sugar) + two kiwis beats out any sort of ice cream/cookie/sweet treat in my book. Add in a bit of peanut powder and a sliced apple? 😋👌

Would love to collect some trading cards (YuGiOh, Lorcana, One Piece, Trails) but I don’t because 1) I have bad gambling tendencies (same reason I don’t touch any gacha game) and 2) it’d be too much of a physical reminder of wasted money (I would never actually play the game). 😭 still tempting tho…

To anyone disappointed by Pokémon Z-A, play the Digimon Story games. Time Stranger is so much fun - recommend even if you have zero nostalgia for Digimon.

Vanity sizing in women’s clothing is so annoying. Three years ago I was mostly a size 2 in Old Navy jeans. Now I’m a size 0. Guess I’m lucky I went in-store for my new straight-leg work pair and didn’t get them online uuugggghhh

I’m losing it with the Dandadan manga right now like WHAT DO YOU MEAN Momo is finally normal again but now we’re doing an annoying amnesia plot???? FML time to tune out for another dozen chapters until I hope this bs is over I guess 🤷♀️

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is…interesting. Seen some people call it “Jujutsu Boruto” which I think is an unfair. It’s only been one chapter! The alien angle is certainly a hook, but I’m not so sure about the leads. They’re a bit paint-by-numbers for my taste, but I’ll give them a chance to woo me.

IDW has to speed up these Sonic Collection releases. I’m rationing out like 5 pages a week of Volume 5 to make it last until Volume 6 and it suuuuucks.
